RE: PUBLIC HEARING ON GUMA VALLEY WATER COMPANY (GVWC) TARIFF APPLICATION FOR THE PERIOD AUGUST 2019-JULY 2020

       29th July, 2019

The Sierra Leone Electricity and Water Regulatory Commission wishes to inform the general public that the public hearing in relation to the recent Guma Valley Water Company tariff (GVWC) application initially scheduled for Wednesday 31st July 2019 has been deferred to Tuesday 13th August 2019.

The deferral comes as a result of GVWC’s request that the Commission grant it additional time to enable its Management put together substantive justifications to be made at the hearing, to further back their claims for an increase.

In May 2019, the Guma Valley Water Company submitted to the Electricity and Water Regulatory Commission a proposed tariff application. As part of the Commission’s review process of a tariff application and in accordance with section 45 of the SLEWRC Act of 2011 which gives opportunity to consumers and GVWC to be affected by the water service(s) to be heard before a final rate(s) is approved, the Commission issued a public notice for a public hearing initially scheduled for 31st July 2019.

The hearing shall now take place on Tuesday 13th August 2019 at the National Stadium Hostel Hall at 9.30am            .

We are sorry for any inconvenience this deferral may have caused and thank you for your utmost understanding in this matter.
